Led by the eclectic wandering mind of multi-instrumentalist - Jim Mitchell, 'Planet Absorbed' is the impressive first release from the artist, since beginning in early 2016. Recorded at his home studio in Sydney, the singles "You Unfollow Me" and title track "Planet Absorbed" have already drawn comparisons with the sounds of Thee Oh Sees, The Kinks, and Ty Segall.
The debut EP is a blistering introduction to the The Jim Mitchells' psych-infected garage ethos, portrayed through the use of soaring guitar riffs and a thumping rhythmic section that may just cause movement of the hips.
“It’s like Mogwai going garage, and I swear I could have danced to it until my f*cking legs fell off!” - TED’S RECORDS
“The Jim Mitchells delivers potent hooks, throaty growls and breezy harmonies” - ROLLING STONE AUSTRALIA

Their best album so far; perhaps Easterfaust is as good. These guys always change a bit but after all these years you recognize their style. The three pieces fit well together and make a nice album structure. peter1328
